Artist's notes: "This bas-relief, my first casting, juxtaposes a familiar New Orleans theme, the jazz funeral procession, with a stormy background reminiscent of Hurricane Katrina. It is inspired by the heroic efforts of the people of New Orleans to carry on after the devastation caused by Katrina and the subsequent flooding.”
